# Resizo — Social Media Image Resizer

All processing runs in the browser via the HTML5 Canvas API. No upload, no sign-up, no watermark.

## What it does

Upload a single source image (JPG, PNG, or WebP, minimum 200 × 200 px, max 50 MB) and select any combination of 40+ presets across **11 platforms**. Resizo crops focal-point-aware, applies platform-specific quality settings, and assembles the outputs into a ZIP organized by platform folder.

Workflow:

1. **Upload** — drop the master image (JPG / PNG / WebP).
2. **Focal point** — click to set where each crop should center.
3. **Select platforms** — pick variants individually or "Select All".
4. **Generate** — Resizo encodes every variant in the browser.
5. **Download** — receive a single ZIP, folder-per-platform.

Typical end-to-end time on a modern laptop: 3–5 seconds for ~40 variants from a 4K source.

## Focal-point-aware cropping

Different platforms demand different aspect ratios from the same source image. Naive center-crop loses the subject when the source ratio differs sharply from the target.

Resizo lets the user click anywhere on the source image to set a focal point in normalized (0–1) coordinates. The crop math then keeps that point near the center of the output:

- When source aspect > target aspect (source wider): crop horizontally, anchor X to the focal point.
- When source aspect < target aspect (source taller): crop vertically, anchor Y to the focal point.
- Always clamp so the crop window stays inside the source bounds.

Circular outputs (profile pictures, server icons) get a clip path applied before draw so the saved PNG has true transparent corners.

## Privacy and architecture

- **Zero upload.** The image is read with `FileReader`, drawn onto in-memory `HTMLCanvasElement` instances, and exported via `canvas.toBlob()`. No network call carries image bytes.
- **Zero tracking.** No third-party analytics, no cookies, no fingerprinting.
- **Zero account.** No sign-up, no rate limit, no watermark on outputs.
- **ZIP assembled in-browser.** JSZip runs locally; the resulting blob is downloaded with an `ObjectURL`.
- **Works offline** after first load — Service Worker caches the page.

1080 × 1920 px (9:16). The safe zone for text is the central 1080 × 1350 — the top ~240 px and bottom ~240 px are overlaid by the username bar and reply bar.

1280 × 720 px (16:9), JPG or WebP, under 2 MB.

**What X / Twitter post image size should I use in 2026?**
